Our group actively engages in a range of outreach initiatives aimed at sharing our research and fostering public interest in planetary sciences.

Fantasy Basel 2025

Doctoral candidates from the group participated in Fantasy Basel – the Swiss Comic Con as representatives of NCCR PlanetS. They engaged with visitors through interactive exhibits and conversations, covering a range of space science topics—from missions to Jupiter’s moons and meteorite samples to tardigrades and spectroscopy methods. The event offered a unique platform to spark curiosity and share planetary science with a wider audience.

D-EAPS dotoral retreat 2025

Dr. Dan Bower was invited to speak at the 2025 D-EAPS Doctoral Retreat, attended by over 80 participants. He delivered an engaging talk on rocky planet formation and offered a fresh perspective on understanding Earth through the lens of exoplanet characterisation. Additionally, he participated in a panel discussion on grant applications during the event.

Astronomy on Tap (AoT)

25 September 2024: Astronomy on Tap is a global outreach programme bringing astronomy to the public through fun, informal events. Maggie Thompson and Urja Zaveri co-founded Astronomy on Tap Zurich (funded by ETH Zurich | Space), hosting engaging talks and activities to foster curiosity about the universe.
