Fellowships
The Experimental Planetology Group at ETH Zurich welcomes prospective postdoctoral researchers to join the team through various postdoctoral fellowship opportunities. Listed below are some of the prominent fellowship programs available for interested candidates.
ETH Postdoctoral Fellowships
The ETH Postdoctoral Fellowships supports outstanding postdoctoral researchers by providing full salary funding for two years. It is designed to attract talented individuals who have demonstrated excellence in their early careers. Applications must be submitted jointly by the candidate and an ETH Zurich professor, who will act as the host and mentor.
NOMIS-ETH Fellowships
The NOMIS–ETH Fellowships offer 3+1 years of funding for early-career researchers to pursue independent research projects. Applicants are encouraged to propose their own research ideas rather than follow predefined group activities. The programme provides a supportive research environment with mentoring from established scientists and collaboration with peers. Applications are open annually from September to November for fellowships starting in the second half of the following year.
Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships
external page Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships support researchers of any nationality to conduct research in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country. These fellowships last between 1 and 2 years and are open to researchers with a PhD and a maximum of 8 years of research experience. Applicants must not have resided or worked in the host country for more than 12 months in the 36 months prior to the application deadline. Funding includes living, mobility, and family allowances, as well as support for research and training activities.
SNSF Ambizione Grants
external page SNSF Ambizione Grants are designed for early-career researchers seeking to conduct, manage, and lead independent projects at Swiss higher education institutions. This program supports young scientists from both Switzerland and abroad. Researchers holding non-professorial academic positions at higher education institutions are also eligible to apply.
The grant provides funding for the grantee's salary as well as the resources required to execute the project. Alternatively, an Ambizione project grant covers only the project-related costs. Grants are awarded for a maximum duration of four years.
